Finding Tranquility

3 - Finding Tranquility
This message was presented to me last week and it’s too good to not share with you.
But first, what does tranquility mean to you?
If you had to pick one place that represents tranquility, what would it be?
Have you felt it, recently?
In the uncertain times we currently live in, it is my belief that a wedge is being drawn; you’re either discovering tranquility or you’re being driven from it.
The only person who knows which side of the wedge you lie on is you.
Let’s dive in.
*The following message/words are not my own.
"The tranquility that comes when you stop caring what they say. Or think, or do. Only what YOU do."- MARCUS AURELIUS
“As someone who wants to help people, give back or assist, one of the things that pops into my mind many times throughout the day is, if I post that or say this, what will so & so think?
This isn’t always a bad thing, but it can be.
This thought can prevent movement forward. It can prevent me from committing to something or trying something that I want to try because I worry about what this person might think about what I said or did.
I saw something the other day that said, people don’t want to follow someone who is uncommitted to ideas. People want to follow someone who makes a statement and stands by it.
That is a profound way to think about my actions and what I might say or comment on.
But when that comment is who I am, then why would I worry what someone else thinks about it.
When we are true to ourselves and are our authentic selves in all that we do, we can achieve what we want to and be who we want to. It is always better to be ourselves vice someone that we think people want us to be.”
I’ll follow this up with a few questions for you to consider:
Do today’s actions align with your ideal self?
Are you being held back by what others might think?
Is there something you’ve been wanted to do but haven’t committed to yet?
Only when your actions align with your ideal version of yourself will you find the tranquility you’re seeking.
I’m excited for you!
